Shimelle's challenge this time was to "scrap with squares"!

I hope ONE square counts!! ;-)

I love using black cardstock for pages and so far I don't think I've used that color yet. The shadows beside my (white white super winter white) feet allowed me to grab the black cardstock.

I cut a few scraps of paper up and sprayed a bit of Mr Huey's Shine.

Done.

Sorry if my white white super winter white feet blinded you.

If I promise not to do that again, will you come back and visit me?

Welcome to Day 4 of National Scrapbooking Day! I'm still knocking out pages along with Shimelle Laine and hundreds of other scrappers!

Soooo, I had a bit of a challenge with Challenge #21--"divide your page."

I don't have any divided pages.

At all.

So I had to improvise. In a creative way.

I used the ever-popular Project Life as an inspiration and divided my page into sections.

I'm not sure I'm OK with this page. I just know I'm done with this page. ;-)

NSD Challenge #20

This next challenge is to "scrapbook smaller photos"!

Good thing I've got lots of them! =D

I took guest artist Kelly Purkey's idea and scrapped one small photo, simply.

I think it needs something...I just got tired and I'm done for the night. Maybe tomorrow I'll realize what it needs! =D

NSD Challenge #19

Challenge #19 is to "paint it up"!!

I had fun with this one. Not exactly what I had planned on doing, but I'm kinda digging the outcome!

I used Tim Holtz's Distress Paint in Picket Fence. I just slammed the bottle down on the paper to make polka dots.

Then I pounced the Paint on the wood veneer shapes.

And for a moment of extreme anxiety, I painted the title.....

...because if I didn't spell Rhododendron correctly, I was done for: No more cardstock this color!

(Note to self: Stock up on raspberry cardstock!!!)

Shimelle's #18 challenge is to "embrace the power of three!"

And so I did. ;-)

Three main colors: orange, blue, cream

Three paper layers under the photo

Three banner tails

Three tabs across the blue paper

Three lines of type in the title on the left

Three lines of "journaling" on the right

Three buttons on top

Three buttons on bottom

And hidden on the bottom right is a border strip with three arches



The power of three has been embraced!

NSD Challenge #16

So Challenge #16 is to "record hope or gratitude."

So now you may be thinking...there's a frog on this page.

You are right.

I was taking pictures of some lovely pink rhododendron flowers and almost jumped when I saw this little guy. He's a beautiful Gray Tree Frog, very common here in South Carolina.

And that got me thinking.

I live in a rural area where lots of wildlife comes and goes...and stays too! Just this morning I saw a Red Fox gallivanting through the yard!

So that coincided beautifully with Shimelle's challenge on gratitude. And I realized (again!) just how much I have to be grateful for.

Thus, the frog on the page.

Challenge #15 is to "put a fly on your page."

Wait.

It's not??

Then why do I have a FLY ON MY PAGE???

SO disrespectful!!

Ah, the hazards of outdoor photography!

No, despite what my unwanted and undetected little visitor would like you to think, the REAL challenge is to "line it up."

I decided to take that very literally and lined up my circles, blingy gems and washi tape. I also lined up my title letters. I wonder if that counts too. ;-)

In case you can't quite see the photo--it's so much better in real life, I promise--it's an American Crow in a birdbath three sizes too small for the Crow. He really needs a tub! =D
