December Daily Day 20

December Daily Day 20 by HikerCynthia

Day 20 of Ali Edwards' project December Daily.

Today was about running errands and rain.

Oh yes. The excitement around here never ceases! ;-)

And an update on the White Christmas Probability....yesterday Intellicast had us at a 33% chance of snow. Today it's down to 1%.

SO sad.

Looks like we're getting a boatload of rain instead.

Thus...Day 20 finds me...

*taking funky bokeh-like photos of the rain

*putting washi tape on everything again

*cleaning up the damage from the wind storm

Thanks for taking the time to stop in--I appreciate your visits!! =D

December Daily Day 19

Another excitement-filled day! ;-)

Day 19 finds me...

*grocery shopping cuz it's Wednesday and I'm waaaay behind on the week

*loving washi tape ;-)

*loving Scrabble tile Thickers ;-)

*taking a photo of the Intellicast's "Probability of Snow" for Christmas (Yes, 33% chance of snow IS a big deal here in South Carolina! But what it really means is that people will panic and buy up all the bread and milk, which, as a Midwesterner, I have never understood. Nutter Butters, yes. But bread?? LOL!!)

Thanks for stopping by today!

December Daily Day 18

December Daily Day 18 by HikerCynthia
December Daily Day 18, a photo by HikerCynthia on Flickr.
Still chugging along with Ali Edwards' project December Daily.

Day 18 finds me...

*not feeling well

*drinking lots of water

*not getting any photos during the day

*feeling better in the evening

*goofing off with my camera outside

*loving Solstice gum

Cindy over at Serious Play used a super clever idea on her Dec Daily page--adhere a photo over a piece of cardstock folded to resemble a card. Then she journaled inside the card. Perfect, no?? Doesn't take up any more space than the photo itself and you can write personal, secret stuff in it.

I totally smacked myself in the head on that one. Like...why did I not ever think to do that before?? It's so simple, it's ingenious!! =D

So that's what the Dasani water label is on. The journaling inside is about feeling crappy that morning. Not really what I wanted to slap all over the page, but that's how my day went and I wanted to document that.

Also, yes, I know LIGHTZ is spelled incorrectly, but I ran out of the letter S and I really REALLY wanted to use my silver shiny Thickers letters.

Plus, who does NOT have a plethora of Z letter stickers, am I right?? =D

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

December Daily Day 17

December Daily Day 17 by HikerCynthia
December Daily Day 17, a photo by HikerCynthia on Flickr.

In my defense, I'm not feeling so hot this morning, thus everything--and I do mean EVERYTHING--on this page is slightly crooked!! How do these things happen??? It looks straight when I adhere it!! =D LOL!

Anywho. I saw another Dec Daily page over on Ali Edwards' site that listed Seasonal Favorites.

So cool.

And since Monday is laundry day, and I'm tired of taking photos of the dryer in action, I went with the Seasonal Favorites theme!

Yay for inspiration!!

So Day 17 finds me...

*eating the last of the Claxton's Fruit Cake (Make all the jokes you want to about Fruit Cake. I love the stuff. I crave Claxton's in July and cannot WAIT for December!!)

*appreciating friends who drop off edible gifts like cashews!

*Christmas handsoaps (I'm loving Warm Apple Cider and Divine Vanilla Cookie right now!)

*currents (Every month on the 7th, 17th, and 27th, I write up a list of "around here" type stuff)

*working out (Excuse the fat calves there. I'm working on it. Get it?? Working out...working on it?? Haha?)

*enjoying catching up with friends via Christmas cards

And that's Day 17. I hope yours was way more exciting than mine! And also less crooked.....

December Daily Day 16

December Daily Day 16 by HikerCynthia
December Daily Day 16, a photo by HikerCynthia on Flickr.

Finally! Something Christmasy to share! =D

My church choir presented its Christmas Cantata so I took a few snaps...you know...trying not to look like a geek or something! ;-)

The Cantata is entitled "And on Earth Peace" which was really appropriate not only for this time of year but also because of the events in Connecticut. Perfect.

I made a pocket for the program and adhered the photos in front of it. The brown star is from another project, but I thought it looked super cool there.

So...Day 16 finds me...

*worshiping the Prince of Peace

Thanks, as always, for visiting!

December Daily Day 15

December Daily Day 15 by HikerCynthia
December Daily Day 15, a photo by HikerCynthia on Flickr.

Yes, the highlight of every Saturday evening is pizza at our house! The Papa John's delivery guys love us!! ;-)

The other story was a conversation my Mom and I had on our way back from our local scrapbook store, which was having a 30-35% off store-wide sale! They have the new Distress Stains. WOOT!! ;-)

So the conversation went like this (that's what's on the little tag on the left):

Me: (Noting a dead opossum on the side of the road.) Hey, dinner!!
Mom: I'm not really in the mood for 'possum.
Me: Whoa, it's 2:48!
Mom: 'Possum for $2.48?? That's expensive roadkill!!
Me: *groan*

Heh.

So Day 15 finds me...

*eating pizza

*having goofy conversations with my mother

Well, that's all the excitement I've got for Day 15! Check back tomorrow for more hijinks! =D

December Daily Day 14

December Daily Day 14 by HikerCynthia
December Daily Day 14, a photo by HikerCynthia on Flickr.

I struggled with this page.

For many reasons.

All I did yesterday was housework and cooking.

And watch the news online about the horrific shootings in Connecticut.

I honestly did NOT want to put anything sad or negative in my December Daily.

But then again, I felt like I should write SOMETHING about the events of the day.

In the end, I only took one photo anyway--a beautiful pink-red sunset.

I tucked a short note behind the photo, attached to the doily. No names, just numbers and places.

It's there. If I want to remember.
