CASEing Susan...again!

CASEing Susan...again! by HikerCynthia
CASEing Susan...again!, a photo by HikerCynthia on Flickr.
Whenever my mojo leaves on vacation, I tend to visit one of the many blogs I have on my list for inspiration. Susan Raihala is one crafter who never ceases to inspire me!

This card is a take on one of her earlier creations. I love LOVE how simple it was to put this card together!

Punch four one-inch squares.

Corner round two opposite corners on each square. Voila! INSTANT PETALS!!

Make red paper using Distress Stain on leftover white card blank. Punch tiny little hearts from that paper.

Fiddle with a dang nail head and get it to stick on the card blank.

Do a small Triumph Dance.

Adhere petals and hearts

Stamp sentiment and adhere oddly so that in the photo it looks crooked, but in real life it's quite straight.

Wait.

Skip that last step, OK?

Anywho.

This was a fun card to produce, all thanks (once again) to Susan! =D

Supplies:
Paper: Recollections (white card blank); We R Memory Keepers (Everyday Moments line--Anthologie)
Stamp: Craftsmart (sentiment)
Inks: Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Fired Brick) and Distress Stain (Fired Brick)
ETC: Marvy (square punch); Crop-o-dile (corner rounder); Emagination (heart punch); Mark Richards (silver nail head); EK Success (3D Pop Dots); GlueDots

The sun has finally peaked its head out after what seems like three years of cloudiness. Alas, it won't be around long. Tomorrow we're supposed to get some seriously severe weather. Sounds like the perfect opportunity for gettin' crafty!

Stay safe, my friends!! ;-)

I love this technique for an easy but gorgeous flower! Love the addition of the tiny hearts! Storms aren't supposed to arrive here til tonight! You keep safe and have your pillow and safe place ready! My hubby always laughs at me when I start carrying my pillow around and make sure there's a clear path to the inside bathroom.

Hi Cynthia, just found you over at Bonnie's, noticed you were upstate SC, transplanted from Ohio. DH is a Buckeye too, although we were Floridians for 42+ yrs prior to SC. We are Upstate, Foothills, and there seem to be so many more names for this beautiful area. We love it here. Would enjoy hearing from you if you have time. Who knows...we may even be Nay-bors! Oh yes, loved your card too! TFS

Cynthia, that is so cool we both love SBC. We've probably met and don't realize it. Next time you're in the store, ask the staff if I'm there...most of them know me! I'm hoping to take Anita's Silhouette class on 2-9, if I can make it. I LOVE that store and all the folks are SO nice. It would be lovely to meet in person. THanks for your kind compliments. I appreciate it.
