Rabbit in the Grass

I got this idea from Julie over on Paper Trufflez. And while it's not exactly the same as her card, I think this one is so cute!! ;-)

Super easy too. I brushed some blue Distress Inks on a white cardstock panel to create the idea of sky--you can barely see it in this picture, but in real life it's quite pretty.

I stamped the rabbit and cut him out, giving him a bit of shine with a gel pen on his eyes and nose. Then I stamped and colored the egg.

The grass is hand cut.

So SO want the die cut Julie used!! (She has a great video showing how she made the card...here.)

Then I just stuck everything on. The egg and the bunny rabbit are adhered using Pop Dots.

Stamps: Pink Cat Studios (Limitless Limbs set--egg); We R Memory Keepers (Cotton Tails: Some Bunny set); Studio G (Easter stamp)
Inks: Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Black Soot, Tumbled Glass, Broken China); Tim Holtz Distress Pens (to color the egg)
ETC: Spica Atyou (sparkly pen); EK Success (Pop Dots)

Here's another page I did with yet another Instagram photo. I used a different filter that made the gorgeous blue sky POP.

I was thinking about the sky and the clouds and the sun and wondered what the view from above looked like...hence the title.

I layered a few various papers--there really is a bit of orange on the largest page that matches that orange beneath the photo.

I also hit that wooden butterfly with some of Heidi Swapp's Color Shine.

Love that stuff. ;-)

Scrapbook page

As promised this past week, here's one of many scrapbook pages I finished recently.

I was running errands downtown and I had a lot of "hurry and wait" type situations. So I made the best use of my time and took a ton of Instagram photos.

I love Instagram.

Yes I do.

I also love black and white photography.

Yes I do.

So I printed up a few photos and followed along with Shimelle on her blog Pretty Papers. True Stories. A few days ago she had a post on making banners using photos.

Yeah, totally out of my comfort zone, but I dove in.

Love the outcome!

I have three small photos interspersed with tags. I did use the far right tag for journaling after I took the photo of the page.

I made the middle green tags using green cardstock and a background stamp. I added tiny washi tape banners. The buttons are made from a Japanese newspaper. And the letters are Amy Tangerine's.

St Patrick's Day

Here's my last St. Pat's Day card. I didn't send too many out this year. We'll just call it lack of motivation and move on, shall we? ;-)

This one was fun and super easy.

Take a piece of white, textured cardstock and drag Distress Stains down to make stripes.

Instant flag!

I made the clover just like I did for the card yesterday--Prima paper flower and lots of spray inks.

I wanted to make the flag kind of free-form and artsy, but it came out looking messy. A little free advice? When making flags, neatness counts. =D

St Patrick's Day Card

Well, I had thought that I was past the whole "Let me apologize for the seriously crappy photo" bit, but yes, I must apologize for the seriously crappy photo of this sweet CAS card.

I blame the photographer. ;-)

Anywho.

I used one of those fun Prima paper flowers, spraying it with a combination of green Color Washes and some Perfect Pearls Mist. Instant four-leaf clover! =D

While that was drying, I eyeballed the swirl placement and stamped it and the sentiment.

Done.

Well, goodness!! It's been a few days since I last posted. I didn't mean to be gone so long, it's just that I've been busy making STUFF!! =D

And here's one of those creations! This week's Cue Word over at CASology is BUNNY. But, as you can plainly see...this ain't CAS. LOL!

I had fun making this crazy Easter basket. It all started with the Tim Holtz/Sizzix die cut bunny rabbit. I used it for March's tag and I loved the look. But I wanted it in CHOCOLATE.

So. Chocolate bunnies are now everywhere. ;-)

I stamped the basket and fussy cut it out, distressing the edges with a bit of ink.

Then I punched the eggs. (No, I don't have the blue-sized plain oval punch. *sigh*)

I used a stencil and some glitter spray to color them. I hand cut some grass too. And I made a banner for an added touch.

CASed Birthday Card

I kinda/sorta CASed this beautiful card by Ann at KingstonMamaCrafts. You can see I used her layout, but totally made it my own! =D

I ran a 2/3rd sized panel through an embossing folder, die cut the butterflies and stamped the sentiment.

Easy peasy!

The most difficult part was trying to find an ink that matched the die cut butterfly paper. Of course, I should have known Tim Holtz and his magic Distress Ink would save the day! It's almost an exact match!! :-)
