Here's the right side of November 28.

The title of the song I adhered on the other side of this day is on the top of this page.

The paper is from Stampin Up, with a bit of distress ink on the edges (Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy.)

I plastered Distress Stickles (Rock Candy) all over the edges and the song title. It's a little over the top and goofy, but I so love that stuff. ;-)

I promise the pages get better as we go along. This page layout isn't my favorite. Except for the Distress Stickles, of course. Heh.

Here's the left side of November 28. More BoBunny paper--seriously love that stuff!

I fussy cut a crown, which had been stamped with Distress Ink in Mustard Seed and covered with Distress Stickles in Rock Candy. I popped it up with3D Dots.

Along the top of the page is a portion of "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" from a hymnbook. I distressed the edges a bit with Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy.

I decided..on the fly...to put daily events on the left side of each day and Advent devotional thoughts on the right side. I designed the Dec Daily with room on both sides for writing, journaling, photos, or what-have-you.

Dec Daily--Advent Week 1

This is the Week 1 divider page. I used smaller pieces of covered chipboard to stand out a bit more. And because I had the smaller pieces available after cutting out the regular pages! ;-)

The letters are Cuttlebug die cuts and the holly is BoBunny paper. I wrote 'God the Father' above the 1 because that's what I'm studying in my Advent devotional guide.

I used the same color green cardstock for all the Advent week words. The red cardstock here matches the red on the opposite page.

Here's the inside cover for my December Daily journal. I cut out some numbers and letters from a piece of Tim Holtz paper.

The letters on the bottom spell Advent. I framed the 25 in the center and adhered everything to red Bazzill cardstock, which is one of 3 colors I used a lot throughout the journal. (The other two being green and tan.)

Well, I managed to take a few pictures of my first-EVER December Daily. YAY!! =D

Here's the cover. I used some BoBunny paper, which I fussy cut out. For all of my pages I used thin chipboard, then glued paper on both sides. The cover, however, I painted with Gesso then brushed with Distress Ink. That was not a great idea, one which I will not repeat next year, because the ink keeps coming off if I brush my fingers over it. Also, paper does not like sticking to Gesso/Distress Ink.

At all.

Lesson Learned.

With all that said, I like how it turned out. I love the colors and the traditionalist look about it. Most of the pages are roughly the same color scheme throughout the album.

The numbers are stamped with Memento Ink, as I thought that might stick better and look crisper than Distress Ink.

The ring binders I bought were no where near the size of the finished album, so I had the ingenious thought to use zip ties. Very non-traditional, but hey, it worked.

The size was chosen because I could cut 3 pages out of each piece of chipboard, with one small, roughly square piece left over. It ended up measuring 5.5 x 6.5. The cover and back page are slightly larger. The square-ish piece I used to mark each week of Advent, since I'm using this Dec Daily as an Advent journal mostly.

Sorry about the crappy picture, but trust me when I say...there's just not a lot to see!!

I mean that in the best way possible, of course, because this is one of the CAS'est cards I've EVER made!! :-)

Clean and Simple.

Lots of white space.

Only one color of ink.

Only two stamps.

I've got a silver tree, embossed with silver embossing powder on the right.

I've got a 'merry Christmas' sentiment on the left, stamped in silver ink.

I've got two score lines made with my ScorBuddy.

And that means...I've got a card!

My apologies once again for not remember just where I got the idea for this card.

The tree is really cute and easy to make...you know...if I had saved the instructions.

Basically, cut a circle in half, then fold a wedge back or forth (mountain or valley folds, meaning), to create tiers as you go down the tree. I used a ScorBuddy to create crisp, straight lines.

I used double sided paper--one side is plain green, the other side has darker green dots. I added random dots of red Stickles only on the dotted side.

I layered the tree over a white piece of cardstock (stamped and border punched) which is layered over red cardstock.

All of the layers are adhered to a white cardblank.

I think the red and the green are quite striking against all the white spaces. It creates the feeling that the tree is sitting in a pile of drifting snow! :-)
